We have a new event partner: Alpine sauna! Lukas, Daniel and Philemon - three buddies who share not only a passion for the mountains, but also a fondness for saunas, bring their well-kept sauna tents to Schaffhausen.

For once, the alpine sauna tents will not be enjoyed on the mountain peaks, but at the Schaffhausen Sauna Marathon. An unforgettable experience.

The sauna marathon will take place in the historic old town, on the Munot and also at the most beautiful locations on the banks of the Rhine - with the possibility of swimming, of course. Together with the partners and the authorities we are looking for the most beautiful locations.

The sauna marathon keeps growing: The Saunah Association is also involved with its fully glazed sauna "Lasi" (Finnish for glass) and the "Puola" with wood from Poland. Clearly, the fully glazed view belongs in the historic old town!

On August 16, Birgit, Manuel, Anita and Zeno visited the Visitor Centre of Schaffhauserland Tourism informed about the Schaffhausen Sauna Marathon.

Of course, a sauna was not to be missed - and right in the old town!

Another stepping stone in the successful organization of the Schaffhausen Sauna Marathon has been reached: We have a logo! We are pleased.

On July 14, the organizing committee has already met for its 5th session.

The sauna marathon receives support from the city and canton of Schaffhausen. In addition to the Rhysauna, the following are also taking part: the KSS, the Wellness im Hotel Kronenhof, the Rheumabad and the indoor swimming pool in Buchthalen. Furthermore, Schaffhauserland Tourism has agreed to cooperate.

For the organization of the Schaffhausen Sauna Marathon, a non-commercial association was founded on April 3, 2023 in the Rhybadi in Schaffhausen. The purpose article of the association statutes states: "The purpose of the association is the organization of the Schaffhauser Saunamarathon event."

Immediately after the founding meeting, the first meeting of the organizing committee took place.

A delegation from Schaffhausen will also take part in the Sauna Marathon, which will be held on February 17 and 18 in Otepää, Estonia. 11 people from Schaffhausen will fly to Estonia for this weekend. Winter capital of Estonia and form three teams there.

Participation in the Sauna Marathon in Estonia inspires the Schaffhausen participants to hold a similar event at home.
