Whether sipping a glass of wine on the Munot overlooking the Rhine or bathing in one of the historic Old Town fountains - there is no better way to experience the beautiful city of Schaffhausen.

The sauna marathon takes you past the most beautiful and interesting places. The preparation phase is currently underway and we are happy to accept new locations. At the last event, over 44 saunas and 25 hot water pools awaited participants at a total of 25 locations.

Schaffhausen old town

The charm of Schaffhausen is its medieval, traffic-free old town. 171 bay windows - no other town in Switzerland has more - adorn the medieval facades. In the beautiful old town of Schaffhausen, numerous saunas and war water pools are set up in the middle of the pedestrian zone.

Munot - the medieval fortress

The Munot fortress, built 400 years ago, is the town's landmark. The Munot boasts views over the old town, the Rhine and the wooded hills of the Randen, which surround Schaffhausen as a green belt.
The Munotzinne is the venue for open-air cinemas, children's parties, dance events and now, in collaboration with the Munotverein, the Schaffhausen Sauna Marathon.

Schaffhausen and the Rhine, they belong together. The most beautiful part of the Rhine is the Lindli, the green promenade directly on the Rhine. Here you can also swim in the cool water, which is why the Lindli is ideal for the sauna marathon.

Stahlgiesserei- the former steel foundry

Where once tons of steel were cast, a completely new and modern district has emerged. The Stahlgiesserei- the former steel foundry embodies a departure on historical ground, an unprecedented combination of old and new, tradition and modernity.
In the 300-meter-long city garden, the former center of the industrial area, we will set up a sauna and a hot tub.

Also located in the steel foundry is the 34 °C warm Therapy bath of the Rheumatism League, which is also open for participants of the sauna marathon.
