From the atmospheric opening on Friday in the old town to the competition on Saturday with 25 unique sauna locations to the grand finale in the evening in the pavilion in the park - every moment is an experience. All participants in the sauna marathon are registered at the tourist office on Vordergasse. The office will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the marathon.

Fronwagplatz 📍

Opening Party & Sauna

The large Fronwagplatz square is located in Schaffhausen's pedestrianised zone. A sauna village with hot pots, cold pools and a bar is set up on the beautiful square. Another highlight is the historic Landsknecht fountain, which is heated to a pleasant 38 °C for bathing. An open-air disco is set up in the middle of this spectacular sauna landscape and the Chiesgrueb DJs play the biggest hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s. There will be a large bar with hot and cold drinks to quench your thirst and the best sausages and burgers to satisfy your hunger. This spectacle is not to be missed. Entry to the saunas and pools is included with the sauna marathon ticket/band ticket. The disco area is freely accessible to all sauna and non-sauna users.

Club 8 - Safrangasse 📍

Bathrobe party at Klub 8

When the sauna heaters slowly go out on Fronwagplatz at 11 pm, the lights go out and the music stops, the party continues in the old town: Klub 8 is just a 300 metre walk away and the trendy club with a great bar opens its doors for the Saunamarathon guests. The popular DJ team «The Floorfillers» will keep the party going well into the night. Bathrobe outfits are of course welcome. Entry is free with the sauna marathon ticket/band.

For all those who would like to have a beer served in the sauna, the «Green Duck» is the right place to end the sauna evening.

Sauna marathon start ceremony

At 09:45, the fanfares sound and the countdown begins. The start of the marathon is celebrated in style. The starting area for the spectacle is once again Fronwagplatz in the centre of the city, just 100 metres from the tourist office.

10:00 to 18.00

Schaffhausen & Neuhausen

The sauna marathon

For eight hours, the 25 unique locations in the old town of Schaffhausen, on the Rhine, on the Munot, in the steel foundry and now also at the Rhine Falls in Neuhausen can be visited. Numerous saunas and pools await guests. A special shuttle service will be set up between Schaffhausen and the Rhine Falls and the participant ticket entitles the holder to free travel on public transport (bus and train).

Pavilion in the park - Steigstrasse 26 📍

Award ceremony and bathrobe party

The «Pavillon im Park» is just a 5-minute walk from Fronwagplatz. This beautiful event location is the official finish line of the sauna marathon and this year's venue for the big after-party. Here we have plenty of space to dance, drink and celebrate the sauna marathon with friends. The awards ceremony will be held on the big stage and various show acts will delight the guests. This highlight is not to be missed.
